Keighley Cougars are looking for a quick return to the Championship as they host Workington Town on Sunday.
They certainly set-off on the right foot with a comprehensive 56-12 home win over Cornwall to go top of the first table on points differential.
Unlike Town, the Cougars have no injury problems and coach Matty Foster has named an unchanged squad for the game.
Second rower Ellis Robson led the way with a hat-trick of tries while scrum-half Jack Miller landed eight out of ten conversions to take him past 1,000 career points. Man of the match Brandon Pickersgill scored two tries and was man of the match.
There were some names familiar to West Cumbrian rugby league fans included in the Keighley team.
Oscar Thomas, who has played for both Town and Whitehaven started at stand-off; ex-Whitehaven forward Lachlan Lanskey was also a starter while fellow Aussie, and ex-Whitehaven half-back Alex Bishop was among the substitutes.
Thomas and Bishop were among the try scorers against a Cornwall side who were looking at damage limitation from half-time when the Cougars led 26-6.
Town might take some heart from the fact that the general opinion was that the Choughs were the better side in the last quarter of the game – although Keighley were clearly home and dry by then.
The Cougars squad is: Brandon Pickersgill, Adam Ryder, Charlie Graham, Junior Sa’u, Billy Walkley, Oscar Thomas, Jack Miller, Will Maher, Aaron Brown, Mark Ioane, Ellis Robson, Lachlan Lanskey, Dan Parker, Lewis Hatton, Kyle Kesik, Alex Bishop, Jordan Schofield, Lewis Hatton.
