Two Cumbrian clubs will have extra incentive on Saturday when the final games are played in the league season.
Keswick will ignore suggestions that only Cockermouth are to be relegated from Regional Two North by going all out to win their last game at home to West Hartlepool.
Kirkby Lonsdale, meanwhile, need to beat visitors Crewe and Nantwich with a healthy points return and hope Winnington Park slip up at home to Altrincham Kersal.
West Hartlepool have fought their way clear of relegation concerns over the second half of the season.
Keswick, however, are third bottom three points ahead of Stockton who finish at home to Morpeth.
There was an RFU suggestion last month that only bottom side Cockermouth would be going down – but that certainly wasn’t set in stone. The RFU have changed their minds before.
So a good home win will be the aim for the Lakes side – just in case of an RFU about-turn, and an “old North East pal’s act” in the Stockton game.
As for Kirkby Lonsdale, they face a second successive relegation and need a stand-out performance against fourth-in-the-table Crewe and Nantwich to give themselves a chance.
They produced a superb effort two weeks ago to win 20-19 at third-placed Bowdon to take it to the last game.
A similar effort is needed on Saturday, hoping that Winnington Park slip-up at home to Altrincham Kersal.
Both key games at Keswick (Anthony Lowery) and Kirkby Lonsdale (Will Lacey) will have Federation Exchange referees in charge.
As for the rest of the county clubs are concerned Penrith and Kendal complete their Regional 1 North West programmes with away games.
Penrith visit Macclesfield, who are three points clear of Rossendale at the top, keen to clinch the title.
Kendal visit Stockport, which on League positions, should be exceptionally close. The Cumbrians are sixth, one point and one place better off than their hosts.
In Regional Two North all four Cumbrian sides finish with home games.
We’ve mentioned Keswick but relegated Cockermouth will be trying desperately to register their first League win of the season at home to Durham City.
A Federation exchange referee Shaun Cox will be in charge at Strawberry How.
Aspatria finish-off at home to Middlesbrough with Martin Denvir in the middle.
Upper Eden entertain Consett where 17-year-old Archie Harding will be taking his first level six game.
There will be support for him from mentors Norman Laycock and Mike Firby, who is in the middle for the final Upper Eden 2 Candy League game of the season.
Back to Kendal and Penrith who are due to start their Papa John’s Trophy campaign next weekend – but once again it looks like another mess.

It’s a similar story with Penrith as scheduled opponents Anselmians (away) and Pontefract (home) have pulled-out of the competition.
That leaves one game in the group, at home to Cleckheaton next Saturday.
Cockermouth have pulled-out of their straight knock-out tie at Kirkby Lonsdale but still due to be playing next week are: St Benedict’s v Sunderland (home); Wigton v Medicals (home); Aspatria v Vale of Lune (away) and Creighton v Bolton (away).
