Friendly T20 matches ahead of NCCA programme

They will be played at the Racecourse Ground on Sunday, April 14 starting at 11am and 2.30pm.

The team includes seven players from the One Day final at Wormsley last year along with first senior call-ups for Sam Bates, the Workington wicket-keeper and Louis Backhouse, an opening pace bowler from Kendal.

Ben Barrow (Netherfield) and Evan Williams (Kendal) are recalled after absences.

The team is:

  • Ben Barrow (Netherfield CC)
  • Freddie Fallows (Kendal CC)
  • Ben Walkden (Newton-le-WIllows CC)
  • Evan Williams (Kendal CC)
  • Matthew Sempill (Cockermouth CC)
  • Michael Slack (capt) (Carlisle CC)
  • Ed Moulton (Chorley CC)
  • Nico Watt (Carlisle CC)
  • Sam Sharp (Kendal CC)
  • Sam Bates (Workington CC)
  • Louis Backhouse (Kendal CC)

A number of the county’s players will be playing for new clubs this season:

  • Nathan Waterston has left Furness to become the professional at Millom.
  • Evan Williams has left Greenmount to become the professional at Kendal.
  • Sam Dutton and Sam Sharp will also be playing for Kendal this year leaving Furness and Cockermouth respectively.
  • Matthew Siddall has joined Fleetwood after leaving Cockermouth.
  • Greg Cameron has switched to Keswick from Penrith
  • JJ Fielding has rejoined Ramsbottom after three years with Southport and Birkdale.
  • Brodie Glendinning has left Newcastle to join Baildon.
