The West Cumberland Choral Society invites you to a performance of Antonio Vivaldi’s Gloria in St James’ Church, Whitehaven on Saturday April 27 at 7.30pm.
The Gloria will be performed in the version for three-part ladies’ voices, which is arguably the original version Vivaldi composed for the girls’ school in Venice where he was director of music for many years.
The concert will also feature works by John Ireland, George Gershwin, Bob Chilcott, a medley from Les Miserables and a selection of barber shop songs.
The choir will be accompanied by an instrumental ensemble and keyboard, conducted by Margie Simper.
Refreshments will be served at the end of the concert when a raffle will be drawn – proceeds will go to North Lakes Foodbank.
Tickets £10; Students £5; under-18s free – available on the door.
