Lake District hotel unveils £2.5 million revamp

A Lake District hotel has unveiled its £2.5 million revamp.

The Lodore Falls Hotel & Spa, owned by Lake District Hotels, was partially closed for two months for the refurbishment to take place.

Director of family-owned Lake District Hotels group, Dani Hope, said the idea of bringing the original hotel complex more in line with the luxury Falls Spa and spa suites, completed in 2018, was part of the ongoing investment and development of the business, and the completion of this venture marks a significant milestone in the hotel’s storied history.

Originally established in 1870, the Lodore Falls Hotel has long been valued as a high-quality establishment. The Graves family are celebrating 20 years of ownership this year.

Dani added: “We recognised the need to evolve and enhance the guest experience, aligning the entire hotel with the modern luxury and style exemplified by The Falls Spa.

“With the completion of this refurbishment, we’re excited to offer our guests an elevated level of comfort and sophistication that will satisfy the evolving tastes of the modern guest.”

Over the course of two months, the Lodore Falls Hotel & Spa has been partly closed and undergone a comprehensive renovation, including a ground floor refurbishment and the installation of a new kitchen.

The hotel’s exterior has also had a new outdoor terrace added, resurfaced driveway, cedar cladding and a wheelchair-accessible ramp installed at the front.

The Lodore Falls Hotel is also proud to unveil a completely new kitchen, representing a £600,000-plus investment.

Equipped with modern appliances and technology, including a dedicated banqueting section for weddings and events, the upgraded facilities promise a seamless dining experience while fostering an enhanced work environment for its employees.

Despite the challenges posed by the refurbishment, The Falls Spa, 18 bedrooms and Mizu Pan-Asian restaurant remained operational throughout.

The Lodore Falls Hotel & Spa is also poised to unveil a new dining experience with the imminent opening of Falls Brasserie, helmed by a talented new head chef.

Dani added: “Looking ahead, Lake District Hotels remains steadfast in its commitment to ongoing investment and innovation, with plans to refurbish additional hotel bedrooms later this year.

“Just last year, we invested over £1.5 million into refurbishing the Borrowdale Hotel located further down the valley, the Kings Arms Hotel in the centre of Keswick and developed a new outdoor terrace at the Inn on the Lake on Ullswater.”

“The feedback on those projects was tremendous, so we are excited to hear what guests have to say about the much-anticipated Lodore Falls Hotel & Spa overhaul.”
