Workington Town produced an outstanding second-half performance to win 30-18 at Hunslet in their League One clash.
The West Cumbrians had trailed 18-12 at half time but in coming back to win they prevented the home side from scoring another point.
It was an important victory against a side who had won three of their first five fixtures.
Town had actually started really well, scoring two tries in the first 21 minutes, both by skipper Steve Scholey. With Ciaran Walker converting they had laid the perfect platform.
But that looked exceedingly rocky at half-time as Hunslet had hit back with three converted tries to go in 18-12 in front.
Three Hunslet tries had come in the last 12 minutes through Jack Mallinson, Cam Berry and Jude Ferreira, all converted by Matty Beharrell and they didn’t want the half to end.
There were no further points for either side and then three ies in seven minutes turned the game back in Workington’s favour.
In the 59th minute Grant Reid barged his way over and Walker converted while four minutes later Jordan Burns broke to put Walker in for a try which he converted.
The scoring was rounded off in the 66th minute when JJ Key got over and Walker made no mistake with the extras.
Town saw out the closing stages to register a second away success of the season.
