Cup victory for Flimby Social Club

Flimby Social Club won their first trophy in Sunday League football when they won the League Cup (Tier 3).

A 3-1 victory over Royal Oak saw them land the silverware as the new West Cumberland Sunday League reached the end of its first successful season.

Goals from Scott Underwood, Dylan Turner and Michael Carruthers gave Flimby the win with Alan Sim replying for Royal Oak.

Sun Inn wrapped up the Division One title with a 9-1 victory over their namesakes, The Sun.

Mally Graham (4), Louie Elliott (2), Richard O’Keefe, Tyler Hodgson and Jack Coyne scored the goals for the new champions.

In a League Cup Tier One clash FC Cosmos were 5-2 winners at Dearham with Aisan Graham, Robbie Bagley, John Atkinson and Dylan Elsworth on target. They also had the help of an own goal.

Danny Dryden and Danny Manchester were the scorers for Dearham.

Dearham were also on the wrong end of a 3-0 scoreline against Premier Division champions Northside as they lost 3-0. Harry Watson, Cain Pears and Chad Grisedale were the goal-scorers.
