There was a dramatic finish to the County Junior Golf Championship at the Eden club.
After 36 holes Owen Ridley, of the Carlisle club, and the defending champion Brad Quayle, of Seascale, could not be separated, both having two round totals of 148.
That meant the championship had to go to a sudden death play-off.
Both players made pars on the first playoff hole and when Quayle bogeyed the second, Ridley was left with a three footer to take the title which he duly holed.
Ridley now goes forward to represent Cumbria in the England Golf County Champions Tournament at Woodhall Spa in September.
Cumbria Golf officials thanked the Eden club for use of the course for the championship. They said it was in fabulous condition and the clubhouse team looked after all of the players and officials superbly.
