
Cumbria’s Ed Moulton has been part of a rebranded NCCA representative side in matches against Leicestershire.
The squad made up of National Counties players, provides an opportunity for aspiring players to transition from grassroots cricket to the professional game.
It involves further training and development from experienced coaches nationwide and allows for competition against some of the best professional and first-class Counties. A number of games have been arranged against first class counties 1st XIs for this summer.
The first of these games were played recently against Leicestershire. In three T20 matches the Challengers won one and lost two and Moulton was Cumbria’s one representative.
Moulton bowled eight overs across the three games achieving a combined T20 economy rate of under eight per over, taking one wicket. He was only called on to bat once scoring four not out at a run a ball.
The T20 scores were:
Match 1 Leicestershire 141/9 (Moulton 3-0-26-0); Challengers 143/5.
Match 2 Leicestershire 185/8 (Ed Moulton 3-0-23-0) Challengers 173/8 (Moulton 4no).
Match 3 Challengers 165/9 Leicestershire 166/4 (Moulton 2-0-13-1).
