Sunday County champions Parkside have followed up with another trophy in the West Cumberland Sunday League.

In the Tier One League Cup final at Borough Park they beat Moresby Rangers 5-2 to lift the trophy.

Callum Birdsall (2), Kieran Maguire, Ben McCarron and Rhys Little scored the Parkside goals.

Owen O’Neil and Taylor Hambling scored for Moresby who had shocked Northside 3-1 in the semi-final in mid-week.

While most pundits expected another Parkside v Northside showdown, it was Moresby who won a tight contest 3-1 with goals from James Bell, Jamie Martin and Ellis Trotter.

Jamie Bramley scored for Northside, who have to console themselves with the fact they became the first-ever champions of the West Cumberland Sunday League’s Premier Division.

Earlier in the day, also at Borough Park, Bluebell had won the Tier 2 League Cup final when they beat Sun Inn 4-2.

Bluebell won the Tier 2 League Cup final after beating Sun Inn 4-2.

Luke Knowles, Greg Quayle, Carl Denvir and Tom Powell scored for Bluebell who led 1-0 at the break from a penalty.

Sun skipper Mally Graham headed the equaliser and then put his side in front as it looked as though the Division One title winners were going to come through and take a second trophy.

But Bluebell finished the stronger and three more goals gave them the victory, including a fine solo effort from Denvir.
