Two of the strugglers in the Cumbria League’s Premier Division have been docked points.
Bottom side Egremont have lost one point for failing to have a scorer for one of their matches.
It proved a thorny subject last season when Furness were penalised a point for their failure to provide a scorer – which proved costly in their final effort to deny Carlisle a second successive League title.
Cleator felt their point deduction was rough on them as it came for a slow over rate last week at Furness.
On a hot day the village side toiled in the field as Furness rattled up 340-7 in 49.3 overs – before they were bowled out for 112 in 33.2 overs.
Believing they were hard done to, on a day when other struggled in the field, Cleator will discuss the matter in committee before deciding whether they will appeal.
The current Premier Division table, with all teams having played five games, is as follows: Cockermouth 50; Carlisle 45; Keswick 44; Whitehaven 38; Dalton 35; Millom 25; Workington 24; Haverigg 22; Furness 20; Wigton 15; Cleator 15; Egremont 14.
