Industrial action due to be taken by staff over pay at a Workington packaging firm have been suspended.
Over 100 members of the Unite union were due to stage walk-outs tomorrow, May 29, June 1 and June 2 at Amcor in Moorclose, but said they have been put on hold after an improved pay offer was put forward by the company.
Unite regional officer Ryan Armstrong said: “Following an improved offer from Amcor, Unite has suspended strikes in order to ballot its members on the new offer.”
If the offer is rejected, strikes scheduled for June 5 and June 9 will take place, the union said.
