Workington Town have sold 500 £5 tickets for Sunday’s League One game with Hunslet at thye Fibrus Community Stadium.
Northern Competitions are sponsoring the game and the initial plan was that the first 500 applicants would get their tickets for £5.
Now the sponsors and the club have confirmed that all tickets for the game will now be sold for £5 – even those who turn up on the day to pay at the gate.
It isn’t just the game for the club has a number of other things planned for the day, including live music.
A Town spokesman said: “Kind-hearted Ryan from Northern Competitions met with us and wanted to make our next home game versus Hunslet affordable for all.
“He had such a good day when we played Cornwall he’s helping to subsidise the reduced admission cost as we aim to pack the Fibrus Community Stadium and help more people enjoy matchday.
“The first 500 have been snapped up but Ryan is extending that £5 offer to everybody else who comes down to the game.”
It’s also what Town have called ‘take-over day’ when a local amateur club shows off their talent and what they are all about through their many age group sides.
Sunday will see Maryport take over the Fibrus Community Stadium and the West Cumbria Youth League club of the season last year will be there in force with 150 of their kids.
