Carlisle’s Upperby Gala will now take place in July.

The event was originally planned for Monday May 27, but was postponed due to saturated ground conditions following heavy rain.

It will now take place on Sunday July 28 at Hammond’s Pond between 1pm and 4pm.

Organised by Cumberland Council and supported by the Friends of Hammond’s Pond Group, food stalls will be providing refreshments throughout the event, plus Hammond’s Pond Café will also be open throughout the day.

The programme will be announced on the build-up to the event.

  • Hammond’s Pond is in the south of Carlisle. There is vehicular access and free parking from the park entrance off Blackwell Road. Vehicular access and parking at the Buchanan Road entrance is restricted to vehicles with permits/disabled access only.
  • Pedestrian access is from Blackwell Road, Buchanan Road, Henderson Road and Scalegate Road.
