Carlisle United defender Jack Armer has left Brunton Park after four season to join League One side Burton Albion.
The Blues club say that he has moved for an undisclosed fee after making 172 appearances for United since joining from Preston North End in the summer of 2020.
Manager Paul Simpson told the official United website: “We’ve strengthened the left side of the defence by bringing Cameron Harper in, and I want a group of players who are totally committed to this football club.
“It wasn’t part of our plans to sell Jack, but with the options we have in his position, when we got offers from Burton it was something we listened to.
“After a few days of negotiations, we got to a point where it was a good deal for the football club and also something Jack wanted to explore, so we allowed it to happen.
“Jack was a mainstay during our promotion season, and he was part of the plans going forward, but we’re now in the process of changing the whole look of the squad.
“We all thank him for his efforts during his time with us and wish him all the best for the future.”ReplyReply allForward
