Whitehaven’s latest loanee Lewis Baxter has been named in Jonty Gorley’s squad to take on Toulouse at The Ortus Rec this afternoon.
Baxter has arrived from Leigh Leopards after previously learning his trade in the youth set-up at St Helens.
It enables Gorley to name 18 players for a tough contest against the French, but two key regulars have to miss out because of head injury assessment – all-action second-row Owen McCarron and regular goal-kicker Jake Carter.
Haven are also without the influential Jamie Doran and also Oscar Doran, both through injury.
The arrival of Baxter, a utility forward, means that he will be the fourth loan player in the squad, while Perry Singleton who had been playing at Barrow Island is recalled.
Singleton had been on dual registration with the National Conference Division Two side and has just completed a suspension after being sent-off for the Islanders.
Next Friday, July 19, Whitehaven Rugby League Football Club (2010) Limited will be holding their annual general meeting.
The club is asking supporters to check their name is on the list of people who will be allowed access to the meeting.
