A Cumbrian bakery has been named among the best in the UK by prestigious industry awards.

Lovingly Artisan, based at Plumgarths, near Kendal, has been named Cumbria’s best bakery in the annual Bakery Business Magazine National Bakery Awards.

Open to all UK bakeries, both retail and wholesale,, the National Bakery Awards celebrate the early mornings, long days, and hard work that define those who work in the industry.

Each of the 91 winning bakeries has been selected from hundreds of entries based on their commitment to quality, customer service, innovation, and operational best practices across several business areas by a team of illustrious baking industry experts.

The winning county bakeries will be officially crowned at a celebration event to be held at 30 Euston Square, in London, on Wednesday 25th September. During the evening’s proceedings, the regional winners will also be announced, alongside the overall National Bakery of the Year winner for 2024.

Lovingly Artisan’s co-owners Aidan Monks and Catherine Connor, said: ‘’Being named as the Best Bakery in Cumbria for the second year in a row is fabulous news for the whole team. It shows that we are on the right track creating the best possible breads and pastries for our customers across the region from our bakery HQ just outside Kendal.’’
