
Workington Comets have booked two guests for the two weekend matches against the Berwick Bandits.
German rider Eric Riss will stand in for Craig Cook while former Comet Simon Lambert deputises for Tate Zischke.
The Comets ride at Berwick on Saturday night and will stage the return at Northside on Sunday afternoon.
Workington are desperate for five points from the two matches to improve their chances of reaching the Championship play-offs.
It’s looking like a three way battle for fourth sport involving Redcar, Workington and Glasgow.
Meanwhile the draw has been made for the Championship Riders Championship at Redcar on September 15 has been made with plenty of Workington interest.
Skipper Craig Cook is drawn 13 while Comets team-mate Troy Batchelow has been drawn at five.
Batchelor will be against the holder, a former Comet Charles Wright in the second heat of the Championship.
Ex-Comets Richard Lawson (1) and Kyle Howarth (15) are also taking part in the meeting.
Great Britain speedway legends Chris Harris and Scott Nicholls will clash in the opening race which also features the league’s top averaged rider in Lawson and former Bears star Michael Palm Toft.
Defending champion Wright will face fellow home Redcar racer Danny King in Heat 2 along with Workington’s Batchelor and Tom Brennan of Poole.
