
A man has died while out on a walk near a Lake District gill.
Keswick Mountain Rescue were called out to the incident which happened at Cat Gill on Tuesday August 6 at around 9.53am
The team were called by the North West Ambulance service who said the 55-year-old had collapsed and was receiving CPR from a passing walker.
Ambulance medics were quickly on the scene followed shortly by rescue team members and Great North Air Ambulance medics.
Despite best efforts, the man could not be saved.
A spokesman for Keswick Mountain Rescue said: “Our heartfelt thoughts and condolences go out to the man’s family and friends.”
