Armed police were deployed in West Cumbria after reports that a man was issuing threats to kill.
Cumbria police said they attended Poole Road in Salterbeck, Workington, at around 6.20pm yesterday, Friday August 16, to carry out arrest enquiries.
A 40-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of threats to kill. He remains in police custody.
Armed officers were deployed as a precaution.
