A West Cumbrian teen is banned from touching or getting into vehicles without permission for two years.
Cumbria police’s Allerdale Neighbourhood Policing Team has secured a Criminal Behaviour Order at North and West Magistrates’ Court against Peter Thompson-Hine, 17, of Workington.
He is prohibited from touching or entering a motor vehicle/mechanically propelled vehicle that belongs to another unless a passenger or has the express permission of the owner or the person lawfully in charge of the vehicle.
A police spokesman said: “This order will disrupt Thompson-Hine from further criminality and help protect local residents.
“I would encourage anyone who witnesses the terms of such a court order being broken to contact the police immediately.
“The punishment for breaking the terms of an order can be up to five years in prison.”
Anyone who witnesses Peter Thompson-Hine breaching the terms of his order should contact the police.
