A man has died while out on a Lake District walk.
Keswick Mountain Rescue Team was called at around 6.20pm on Saturday, August 24, after a walker heard shouts for help from a man who was performing CPR near the Taylorgill Force waterfall.
The Great North Air Ambulance was also deployed.
The team said: “Due to weather conditions and the terrain the helicopter could not land and had to abort.
“They did however provide an accurate location of the casualty site. Keswick team arrived but despite best efforts could not save the man.
“The casualty location was on steep and difficult terrain so a Coastguard helicopter was requested but again due to weather conditions the Coastguard could not assist. A long and a technically complex recovery of the man proceeded.
“Our thoughts and condolences are with the man’s family and friends, and in particular with the man’s son-in-law who was performing the initial CPR.”
