Carlisle United are still looking to add to their squad before the transfer window shuts later today.
But the early business concerns an outgoing with Dan Butterworth on his way to join Swindon Town.
Butterworth, 24, joined the Blues in the summer of 2023 and has made 37 appearances in all competitions, scoring four goals.
Manager Paul Simpson said: “Dan came to see me a couple of weeks ago and told me he wasn’t happy with his lack of playing time.
“He said he wanted to leave, and this is a deal that suits both parties.
“We thank him for his efforts during his time with us and wish him all the best.”
Simpson is still heavily involved in trying to recruit an additional player before the window shuts.
