Carlisle have wrapped up a third successive Cumbria League Premier Division title.
Before they take their leave next week after the final game at Keswick, the champions made no mistake as they won comfortably at a depleted Workington side.
The city side won by 117 runs after being put into bat but they might have expected to score more than 177 all out in the final over against a Workington side which included some second teamers.
The club had decided to strengthen the second team in the hope of retaining their Division One status, which was achieved with a win at Millom 2nds by 54 runs.
Carlisle had several batsman who got a start but really didn’t push on – Oliver Spedding (32), Ton Benn (25), Ben Davidson (22), Michael Slack (21) and Marc Brown (20).
Australian Jack White took 3-17; Matt Lanaghan had 3-34 and Davis Pearce weighed in with 3-42.
The Workington reply never really got going and White made 41 of their all-out total of 60. Nobody else reached double figures.
Spinner Josh Stirling returned the impressive figures of 8-3-10-6.
If Carlisle were confirmed as champions then the relegation issue was also decided with Haverigg down to Division One.
For while they were losing by nine wickets to Keswick, their fellow strugglers Egremont were beating Cleator by 49 runs to clinch safety.
Choosing to bat first Haverigg were bowled-out for 125 in 47.1 overs led by Adithya Siriwardhana (50) and Robbie Evans (20). Keswick pro Risith Upamal took 4-21 off 9.1 overs.
Glen Weightman (67no) led the Keswick charge to victory in 21.4 overs. Fellow opener Stephen Hindmarch made 35.
Egremont won the Copeland derby against Cleator after electing to bat first and making a rather under-whelming 92. Ellis Gribbin, batting at ten, top-scored with 22. James Rogers took 6-28.
But it proved enough as the visitors were bowled-out for 43 in 28.2 overs. Coady Scott (4-7) and Gribbin (4-31) did most of the damage. Darren Clark (14) was the only batsman in double figures.
Cockermouth have to settle for runners-up as word of Carlisle’s easy win at Workington filtered through to Sandair.
They beat Millom by seven wickets after bowling-out the south Cumbrians for 110 after the visitors had chosen to bat first.
Millom pro Nathan Waterston top-scored with 31 with skipper Matty Sempill (4-20), Ethan Hardie-Knight (3-24) and Alex Grainger (3-24) among the wickets.
Sempill (54no) and Gareth White (31) helped guide Cockermouth to their seven wicket win.
Wigton are making a big finish to the season and they beat Furness by 68 runs in their last home game at Lowmoor Road.
Lewis Little (44), Dean Thomlinson (35), Glen Liddle (32no), Kieran Little (24) and Chris Hodgson (20) all made contributions as Wigton made 215-8 in their 50 overs. Gary Thompson (4-41) was the pick of the Furness bowlers.
Sub pro Rumesh Buddhika (55) led the Furness response but they were bowled-out for 147 with Liddle taking 3-20.
In the final game Whitehaven returned to winning ways as they beat Dalton by nine wickets.
They bowled-out the visitors for 110 (Adam Hunter 32) with Josh Foster (3-21) and Lewis Keeler (3-27) among the wickets.
Whitehaven opener Chase Young was in a hurry at his destructive best. He made 83 off 49 deliveries and struck five sixes and four fours as Whitehaven raced to 114-1 off 14.3 overs
