Are you brave enough to take on a skydive? One local charity is giving its supporters a chance to take fundraising to new heights.
Hospice at Home West Cumbria has teamed up with Skydive Northwest to offer their supporters a thrill-seeking way to help raise vital funds for the charity.
Skydive Northwest is one of the longest established skydiving centres in the UK, based in Flookburgh with views across the Lake District, Lake Windermere and Morecambe Bay.
Those brave enough to take on the challenge and help fundraise will experience a free fall from up to 15,000ft and reach speeds of up to 120mph.
Hospice at Home West Cumbria said it hopes the new partnership will give supporters a chance to tick something off their bucket list or step out of their comfort zone in memory of a loved one.
Lisa Johnson, of Whitehaven, recently raised over £1,000 for the local hospice charity by doing a skydive in memory of her Dad.
Lisa said: “It was a crazy, scary thing jumping out of a plane, but as scary as this was, it is nothing compared to what loved ones endure when they are faced with the unthinkable fate some are so cruelly given.
“I can’t express how grateful I am to have had Hospice at Home West Cumbria’s guidance and support as they helped us through one of life’s hardest experiences, and I chose to do a skydive as an opportunity to give back.”
