In the West Cumbria Mixed Triples League Workington are this year’s champions.

Although Whitehaven A finished with the same number of points, Workington are the champions by virtue of a superior shots difference of +325 against Whitehaven A’s +272.

There is just one fixture outstanding, which is between Croft and Whitehaven B, and the Cockermouth-based club will finish in third place if they secure at least four points.

League standings (Games played and points): Workington 12-83, Whitehaven A 12-83, Wigton 12-70, Croft 11-67, Cleator Moor 12-59, Maryport 12-54, Seaton 12-51, Harris Park A 12-50.5, Whitehaven B 11-49, Seascale 12-43.5, Harris Park B 12-30, Vulcan Park 12-28, Egremont 12-25.

The League Knock-Out Cup Final was played last week at Aspatria and, in a very close game Croft defeated Workington 5.5 – 3.5. Both teams scored 66 shots but Croft won on two rinks and drew one whereas Workington won on only one rink.
