The Lowca senior team might have finished their season but the club’s Under-15s still have much to play for.
They joined the North West Counties League this season and still have five games left to play – but they also have a big date on October 6 when they contest the Lancashire Plate final.
On Sunday they hosted Leigh East Bears and came out on top of a hard-fought game by 18-6.
The tries were scored by Tyce Walmsley, Josh Dockwray and Kaydn Allen with goals from Ryan Wood (2) and Quinn Ennis.
Their next game is at home to Leigh East Thunder on Saturday with a 1.30pm start. It should be a good one, too, as Lowca lie 6th of 11 teams and the Thunder are a point and a place behind them.
Lowca have played 15 games so far and it’s pretty much even steven with seven wins, seven losses and a draw to date.
It made the win over Leigh East Bears at the week-end a commendable one as they lie fourth in the table and had been five points better off than the Cumbrians at start of play.
