Carlisle City have been left as Cumbria’s only representatives in the FA Vase as Dan Kirkup’s team await today’s draw.
City’s progress in the competition last season meant they have been exempt so far – while three county sides fell at Saturday’s second qualifying round.
Penrith were beaten 2-1 at home by Padiham; Kendal lost 1-0 at Horden Community Welfare and Holker Old Boys went out 4-2 on penalties after a 0-0 draw at Crook Town.
Kendal Town have the opportunity to get that defeat out of their system when they return to Northern League action tomorrow night at home to Easington Colliery.
After going six games undefeated, the Mintcakes have lost their last two so manager Jimmy Marshall will be extra keen to get back to winning ways tomorrow night.
Kendal are 13th in the table and Easington are 15th, a point behind but from two more games.
Holker Old Boys, second in North West Counties First Division North, trailing Nelson by a point but with a game in hand do not have a midweek fixture. They resume on Saturday at home to Maine Road.
Penrith also have a break until Saturday when they travel to Blyth Town while Carlisle City host West Auckland.
