This weekend marks the 10th anniversary of the weekly parkrun held at the National Trust’s Fell Foot park at Newby Bridge.
Over the last 10 years, 914 volunteers have helped over 83,000 people to complete the 5k run through the park or on paths when weather conditions are poor.
The average time it takes to complete the course is just under 30 minutes at 29’ 23”.
This weekend runners are being asked to bring donations for the Windermere and District Foodbank – particularly tinned meat, vegetables, tuna, rice pudding, soup, pasta sauces, dry pasta and teabags.
