Storm Ashley contributed to a vastly reduced programme in the West Cumberland Sunday League.

Only two games survived the wind and rain, but they still provided 16 goals between them.

In the Albert Murphy Trophy Deer Orchard were 6-0 winners at Swan to continue their promising start to the season.

The Premier Division side beat their First Division opponents with goals from Keith Skillen (2), Luke Harrison (2), Lee Clark and Sam Wright.

The other game to go ahead was in Division One where Thornhill beat King’s Arms 7-3.

It moved Thornhill up to fourth in the table, two points behind second-placed King’s Arms but with two games in hand.

Lewis Selkirk (3), Owen Bell (2), Reece Bewley and Nathan Dryden were the Thornhill scorers.

Kieran Fraser, Dylan McAlone and Bobby Fitzpatrick were on target for the King’s Arms.

Fixtures for Sunday

  • Premier Division – Bluebell v Sun Inn; Lowca Pirates v Dearham Commercial; Moresby Rangers v Deer Orchard; Northside v Parkside.
  • Division One – Borough Miners v Royal Oak; Salterbeck v King’s Arms; The Sun v Whitehaven Development; Thornhill v Swan.
  • Albert Murphy Trophy – Sun Inn Athletic v Zebras.
