Plans to extend a Carlisle petrol station have been given the go-ahead.

The petrol station, at Morrisons off Kingstown Road, has been given approval to extend its sales building, plus add EV charging stations and a jet wash to its existing facilities, covered by a new canopy.

The sales building, currently 202sq m will be extended to 270sq m, nine electric vehicle charging stations will be created and there will be three jet wash bays.

It will also have a new substation.

The proposed development will result in the loss of six parking spaces, including a disabled bay, but Cumberland Council said the new electric charging bays will help contribute towards reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
