Cumberland FA has announced six mid-season referee promotions, rewarding them for performances over the first part of the season.
Tommy Linford has been moved up from 4w to 3w while Jacob Moore has gone from level seven to six.
Four referees – Kevin Young, Colin Varty, John Dixon and Aaron Roberts – have moved from level six to five.
Scott Taylor, Cumberland FA referee development officer, said: “Once again our recent mid-season promotions reflect the hard work and commitment shown by Cumberland referees at grassroots level.
“Promotion is our way of rewarding their on-field refereeing performances over the past few months in open age and youth football.
“As their RDO I am extremely happy for them all as each and everyone of them has put a lot of effort into gaining their mid-season promotion. As the FA criteria states they must referee a minimum of 25 games and undertake various online CPD courses.
“They also have to pass an online FA Laws of the Game exam appropriate for their level.
“As always I’m hopeful one or two of them can now push on and gain further promotions over the remainder of this season and keep challenging themselves in the process.”
