Carlisle workers making headscarves for the Saudi Arabian market are taking industrial action after talks broke down after pay.
Staff at Lappet Manufacturing are striking over low pay and punishing targets, said GMB regional officer Michael Hall.
The union said talks had broken down after staff took industrial action last week.
Workers will strike for four days from tomorrow.
Mr Hall said: “These highly skilled workers make intricate, delicate garments for the high end market.
“Yet they struggle to get by on poverty pay, while facing crushing targets. These workers have vowed to fight on until bosses meet with them and give them a wage they can live on.
“If the targets aren’t reached, they are basically excluded from doing any overtime.
Lappet Manufacturing has previously said it questioned the validity of the union’s claims and said the issues had not been brought up by the union during eight months of negotiations.
A spokesman said staff at its Carlisle site had received more than 12% in pay rises over 2022 and 2023, and it had offered a 3.9% pay rise for 2024, it has been reported.
