Cumbria’s three professional clubs will find out their opponents for the new season when the 2025 fixtures lists are revealed on Tuesday, November 26.
Whitehaven, relegated from the Championship, will be renewing rivalry with neighbours Workington Town in League One.
With 11 clubs this time round – an increase from the nine of this year – it will give each of them 20 fixtures, in what looks as though it will be a very competitive League.
Dewsbury, Keighley and Swinton are expected to be front-runners with Workington Town looking to make a big impression after just scraping into the play-offs last time.
Whitehaven have already said that they are in transition, assembling a new, locally-based squad and expect it will take time before they are challenging for a return to the Championship.
There will be much interest in new boys Goole Vikings who are building their squad, and it has strong Humberside connections, with a ninth ex-Hull FC player signing this week.
