Stevie Scholey, Workington Town skipper and front-row forward has been granted a testimonial by the RFL.
Scholey signed for Town in February 2015 when Phil Veivers was the Workington coach and after he had played in pre-season games against Wigan and Whitehaven.
He had previously played for the Maryport club in the Cumberland League and had been capped by the BARLA Great Britain side.
Since then he has gone on to give sterling service to Town, given the ultimate honour of being appointed captain of the League One side.
Anthony Murray chose him as his skipper when he took over as coach at the start of the 2023 season.
A testimonial committee has been formed and they will be coming up with their fund raising plans for the weeks and months ahead.
