New partnership for Workington Comets

Workington Comets have announced an important partnership for the 2025 season in MKM from the building supplies industry.

The Comets management say they are always looking for the support of businesses as without it the speedway would not be back in Workington

MKM recently marked a significant milestone by opening a new store at Lillyhall, near Workington, earlier this year.

Its commitment to supporting the local community has already been shown with a new link with Workington Town RLFC and now the Comets.

A Comets spokesman said: “We are delighted that they have chosen to back the Workington Comets for the upcoming season. We are proud to welcome MKM into the Comets family and we look forward to work with them and other business to make the 2025 season, a successful one.

Workington Speedway Promoter Andrew Bain added: “We’re absolutely delighted to welcome MKM on board as a partner for the 2025 season.

“This partnership marks an exciting start for the 2025 season and for the club in general, as we look to build a strong and successful season both on and off the track.

“Lewis and Sophie from MKM  visited the GT Tyres Arena recently to see how our partnership will support both MKM and our club.

” We are thrilled to have MKM join the Comets family and we can’t wait to see what we can achieve with their support.”
