A man has received an order banning him from two West Cumbrian towns for five years due to his violent behaviour.

The Violent Offender Order was issued for Jordan Starkey, 33, to prevent him committing further offences in the Whitehaven and Workington areas.

Jordan Starkey, 33, of no fixed address, was given the order yesterday at Workington Magistrates’ Court.

The order states Starkey must not be in any public place within the defined boundaries – as defined by the two maps – between the hours of 8pm and 5am on any day of the week.

Workington boundary

A public place is a specified place including anywhere except a private residential dwelling or private hotel room.

Whitehaven boundary

He must also not be in the company of four named individuals.

Starkey was previously given an interim Violent Offender Order in August .

PC Sarah Hindle, of Copeland Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “We are committed to taking action against violence in our communities – from our Operation Enhance patrols to securing orders against individuals such as in this case.

“I would encourage anyone who witnesses this individual breaching the terms of the order to come forward immediately so that swift action can be taken.”
