The death has been announced of a well-known former referee in the Workington area, Bob Crawford.
Former referee and ex-secretary of the Workington and District Sunday League, Ron Caffrey said: “I have known Bob for a number of years, from when he played for John St. Club in the Workington Sunday League.
He then took up refereeing with the Cumberland FA in the 1980’s.
“Sadly for the last few year he had been a resident in the Newlands Care Home, Workington
“My sympathy and prayers, go out to Bob’s wife and family.”
The Funeral service will be held in the Church of Our Lady and St Michael, Banklands, Workington on Friday 27 December at 11.00am followed by cremation at Distington Hall Crematorium.
