Barrow continue to slide down League Two after they went down 1-0 to leaders Walsall who were extending their advantage at the top to four points.
The only goal of a scrappy encounter came on 28 minutes when centre-back Taylor Allen surged through to join the attack and scored his fifth goal of the season with a low strike into the bottom corner.
That was enough to stretch Walsall’s unbeaten run to 10 games while Barrow, down to 15th now after initially being joint leaders, haven’t won in the league for nine games.
Walsall could have gone ahead before that opener but Jamille Matt’s half-volley was well saved by Barrow keeper Paul Farman while Liam Gordon fired wide from 25 yards.
Emile Acquah was close to pulling Barrow level seven minutes after Allen’s goal but after beating several challenges he pulled his shot wide.
Just before the break he was even closer when his close-range effort was superbly stopped by the Walsall keeper Tommy Simkin.
Walsall went close to adding to their lead in the second-half when Nathan Lowe fired into the side netting before substitute Jamie Jellis almost found the net inside the near post but was denied by Farman.
