A 33-year-old woman has died after she was found unconscious in an alley in a West Cumbrian town.
Cumbria police were notified by the North West Ambulance Service after paramedics were called to the alley in Egremont at around 9.25am on New Year’s Day.
The woman had been found unconscious in the alleyway that runs behind the Wheatsheaf pub.
The woman was taken to hospital but has since died.
Cumbria police said the death was not being treated as suspicious at this time and the coroner has been informed.
