Police have been called to a one-vehicle collision on a Lake District pass.
Cumbria police said they were called to the incident on Kirkstone Pass between Troutbeck and Hartsop.
There is a lot of ice and snow on the road and drivers are asked to avoid the area.
The A592 is closed in both directions.
Cumbria police said: “Motorists are reminded that in challenging conditions such as today, even the most equipped vehicles are struggling on some roads.
“We would urge you to make responsible decisions to keep yourselves safe and only travel if necessary.”
