Whitehaven Harbour Commissioners have issued a ‘polite safety notice’ in the wake of Storm Eowyn.
They said: “As you are aware, today’s weather is extreme, this is Mother Nature at her strongest.
“Storm Eowyn is in full force around Whitehaven Harbour and the conditions are still very dangerous.
“Can we please ask that you do not venture onto the quays or piers as it is unsafe and you are putting yourself at great risk.
“This is why the emergency services ask people to stay away from the harbour, please respect this.”
