Plans have been lodged to build 155 new homes on the edge of a South Cumbrian village.
Story Homes has submitted a planning application to Westmorland and Furness Council to build the new estate on land at Cross-A-Moor in Swarthmoor.
The proposals said 35 per cent of the houses would be affordable with 38 homes available for affordable rent and 16 houses labelled intermediate ownership properties.
The development would include of 31 two-bedroom properties, 52 three-bedroom houses, 63 four-bedroom dwellings, seven five-bed homes and two six-bedroom properties.
According to planning documents the construction phase of the proposed development could create 244 full-time equivalent jobs and would generate a construction spend of around £28.7 million.
Plans said vehicle access to the site is proposed off Cross-a-Moor to the north of the existing properties.
Residents would then access Pennington Lane via the existing T-junction. The access arrangement would require the demolition of one property on Cross-a-Moor, known as Charnwood.
Westmorland and Furness Council has been targeted with building 1,331 homes a year under the new method, lower than the previously proposed target of 1,430 homes the local authority was initially set in July before consultation on the proposals was carried out.
In the area managed by the new council there was an average of 773 homes built each year between 2020/2021 and 2022/2023. Under the previous system the authority is targeted with delivering 227 homes per year.
All councils in England have been given new housing targets in a bid to build 370,000 homes a year.
The planning application is undergoing public consultation.
