An electronics firm has raised over £2,000 for a hospice charity.
Bender UK Ltd, which has a base in Ulverston, has spent a year raising money for St Mary’s Hospice in an effort to give back to the community.
The company’s social committee organised themed fundraising events throughout the year including a Christmas raffle, inclusive social events, an Easter egg hunt and more.
It raised a total of £3,212.46, which it has divided equally between St Mary’s Hospice and Alzheimer’s UK by rounding up its donation amounts.
Annabelle Holloway, corporate partnerships manager at St Mary’s Hospice said: “Bender UK are amazing supporters of St Mary’s Hospice and we feel very lucky to have them on board.
“As well as being a Compassionate Company and having recently contributed towards our reception refurbishment, their staff have chosen our hospice as their Charity of the Year for several years now.
“The amount of fundraising that they’ve done is fantastic, and we are absolutely thrilled about the level raised.
“I would like to take this opportunity to express huge thanks from everybody at St Mary’s Hospice to Bender UK.”
Bender UK has also built a stronger alliance with the hospice through direct donations, volunteering, and involvement within community programs.
Julie Wilson, from the firm, added: “We are incredibly proud of our staff for their generosity in supporting St Mary’s Hospice over the past year. It’s wonderful to know that the money raised will make a real difference to patients and their families.
“It has been a privilege to contribute to such an important charity in our local area.”
