People using the Lanes multi-storey car park in Carlisle on Sunday are urged not to panic if they see smoke between 2pm and 4pm.
Crews from Carlisle West Fire Station, Carlisle East Fire Station, Penrith Fire Station and Workington Fire Station are taking part in an exercise between these times.
Synthetic smoke will be used as part of the simulation Cumbria Fire & Rescue Service is running. The service said if people saw it, they shouldn’t panic as all is well – it is only a training exercise.
The car park will remain open to the public, as the fire service was only using a small section, it said.
