
People in Keswick and surrounding were without broadband or mobile signal for four days.
Sky customers first reported issues on Wednesday and were told via recorded message that there was an issue and they will be notified as soon as it was resolved.
Sky came back on online on Saturday at around 1pm, but one customer told Cumbria Crack they only found out by accident as they had no notification from Sky.
It is unclear what the issue was.
On Friday, Markus Campbell-Savours, MP for Penrith & Solway, posted on social media that his team was speaking to Sky about the problems.
Some business owners said they were experiencing huge stress as everything runs using wifi, from booking systems to telephone lines, card terminals to CCTV.
It appears Keswick town centre, Bassenthwaite, Thornthwaite, Portinscale and Embleton were among the communities affected.
A customer in Dubwath said an Openreach engineer was sent to their property on Friday morning and was ‘baffled’. The householder said it appeared to them that each company was blaming each other for the fault.
