To mark Mother’s Day, Distington Hall Crematorium is offering people the opportunity to remember and celebrate the cherished maternal figures in their lives.
From Monday March 24, until Mother’s Day on Sunday March 30, visitors are invited to participate in a special tribute at the crematorium.
Families and friends are encouraged to bring photographs of their loved ones and place them on the noticeboard in the Chapel of Remembrance.
Small seed packets will also be available for visitors to take home, offering a simple way to remember loved ones by planting and nurturing a living tribute.
The Chapel of Remembrance is open daily from 8.30am to 4pm in the grounds near the main crematorium building.
Families can have an entry inscribed in the Book of Remembrance, which is displayed in the chapel. Vases are also provided for floral tributes.
The crematorium, which is run by Cumberland Council, said it welcomed all members of the community to participate in the tribute, whether by sharing a photograph or simply taking a moment to reflect this Mother’s Day.
