Caravan stolen from village outside Carlisle

A caravan has been stolen from a village outside Carlisle.

The incident took place overnight on March 11 into the morning of March 12 just outside of Hallbankgate, east of Carlisle.

Police are investigating the theft of the Altea Dart caravan and are asking for help to identify those responsible.

A silver 4×4 vehicle was also taken without the owners consent from the Hayton area of Cumbria which officers said appears to be linked to the theft.

Police want to hear from anyone that saw anything suspicious that evening, in Hallbankgate or Hayton, and are asking those with CCTV covering the roadside also to get in touch.

Those who have a caravan accessible from the roadside are asked to take steps to ensure it is out of sight from passing vehicles and has good security measures in place.

CCTV covering its location can prevent it becoming a target for criminals, as well as providing vital evidence should it be stolen in similar circumstances.

Anyone with information relating to this incident can report online at www.cumbria.police.uk/report-it quoting incident number 92 of the 12th of March 2025. Or call 101.

Alternatively you can contact Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111
