A Cumbrian conspiracy theory festival is set to go ahead for its second year.

The festival will take place in August and will see several names from the alternative truth movement attend – including Kate Shemirani and Dolores Cahill, both of which have peddled anti-Covid vaccine conspiracy theories.

X-Factor’s Chico will also attend the event to perform and lead a guided meditation session that organisers claim will be an ‘out of body experience’.

Best known for his song ‘It’s Chico Time’ the performer also runs a fitness brand and hosts meditation and breathwork retreats.

It will take place in a field between Distington and Gilgarran for three days and organisers claim this year’s event will ‘shatter illusions and build solutions’.

They have also claimed this year’s event will be ‘bigger, bolder and braver’ and will ‘take truth to the next level’.

Other speakers and people attending the festival include alt-right commentators, mystic healers and 5G conspiracy theorists.

A ‘special guest’ is also set to attend, but the individual’s identity is yet to be confirmed. This year a farmers market will also take place on site that aims to deliver talks on ‘safe food’.

It is being organised by Nicola Mayoh and and Kevin Dowling and is also advertising activities for children, workshops, stalls, and camping.

The festival first took place last year and was headlined by alt-right columnist Katie Hopkins and Covid-conspiracist and ex-footballer Matt Le Tissier.

It also bypassed licencing rules last year after organisers claimed it was a private event.
