Firefighters have tackled a large blaze at a north Cumbrian farm which killed a number of sheep and lambs.
Crews from Longtown, Carlisle East and Carlisle West stations, plus a water bowser and appliance from Grange were called to Hethersgill, near Carlisle, last night, Wednesday April 2.
Longtown Fire Station said it took four hours to fight the blaze as it involved a series of structures and a well developed fire on arrival.
No individuals were seriously injured but Longtown Fire Station added: “Our deepest sympathies go out to the owners for their loss last night and for what must currently be a very traumatic experience.
“Many thanks to Andrew Spedding for attending with his loader last night and assisting crews.”
